WE CARE ABOUT OUR ZOO
The first 50 years of the Los Angeles Zoo has much to celebrate: our remarkable animals, conservation achievements, firsts, innovations, partnerships, friends, and advocates that have made the Zoo what it is now, a world-class institution.
Since 1966, the Los Angeles Zoo and Botanical Gardens has been providing the residents and visitors of Southern California with an educational and entertaining view of the diversity of wildlife and the natural world. The amazing achievements in saving animals from extinction of the last 50 years, will help to guide the future 50 for the Zoo . In shaping our future, an exciting theme has emerged: “The Los Angeles Zoo – A Zoo without Borders” and with this, the Zoo is poised for transformative change – change that will only be possible with your aid.
Make a donation now to allow us to embrace all that “A Zoo without Borders” can be! Your tax-deductible donation will make a difference for wildlife and wild places!
Zoos are places of conservation, education and research. Networks of people, connected by their professions and passions, contribute and collaborate as new methodologies in welfare, nutrition, reproduction and zoo medicines are discovered that will aid in understanding the needs of endangered species. Animals in accredited zoos not only inspire visitors but a species protected in human care at a zoo provides a reservoir population to hedge against a total collapse of that species in the wild.
Now is the time for action – please don’t delay!! Your donation dollars have never been more powerful! Make a gift today.
